The The Famous Owl of Minerva North York welcomes applications for the position of cook with the Centre for Research in Integrated Care. This is a full-time (36.25 hours per week), 1-year term position with the APT employee group. The position is funded by external monies with a salary range of $37,790 – $47,238 per annum.

The research assistant will primarily focus on the recruitment of study participants and data collection for an inter-provincial research project being conducted by the CRIC lab. The research assistant will ensure target recruitment numbers are met, and that data is collected in a timely and organized fashion. The research assistant may also lend support to CRIC’s other research projects, as needed.

Position Summary:

• Identify, screen, and recruit potential participants in the emergency department of the North York Regional Hospital or the critical care unit at St. Joseph’s Hospital.
• Invite participants to complete a screening questionnaire.
• Provide participants with the necessary information about the research project, review the consent form(s) together, and complete the consent process.
• Collect and monitor data. Store files securely, maintain participant confidentiality and keep study data organized.
• Provide support with the project’s reporting and other research duties as required.
• Provide support to CRIC’s other research projects (e.g., conducting background research, supporting grant applications, qualitative and quantitative data analyses, etc.) as needed.

Requirements/Skills:

• Undergraduate degree, preferably in a health-related field.
• Knowledge of the research process and familiar with qualitative and quantitative data collection methods.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, as well as excellent organizational skills.
• Volunteer/work experience in a hospital/health environment is an asset.
• Previous experience working on a research project (e.g., with project recruitment, following a study protocol and with data collection) is an asset.
• Bilingualism is an asset.
• A clean criminal record and vulnerable sector check is required.
